The smoker should make every effort to stop smoking completely during treatment with NICORETTE® QuickMist. Behavioural therapy, advice and support will normally improve the success rate.1
As soon as cravings arise or at the time when cigarettes normally would have been smoked the customer should use 1 or 2 sprays of NICORETTE® QuickMist. If after a single dosage the cravings have not been resolved within a few minutes, a second spray should be used. If the customer requires 2 doses to control the craving, future doses may be delivered as 2 consecutive sprays. In most cases smokers will require about 1-2 doses every 30 minutes to one hour.
The customer should not exceed 2 sprays per dosage and 4 sprays per hour. The maximum dosage per 24 hours is 64 sprays or 4 sprays per hour over 16 hours. Each mouthspray contains at least 150 sprays, note that priming the mouthspray reduces the number of sprays the customer may get from NICORETTE® QuickMist.
NICORETTE® QuickMist should be used whenever the urge to smoke is felt or to prevent cravings in situations where they are likely to occur.
Smokers who are aiming to reduce cigarettes may use NICORETTE® QuickMist as needed to prolong smoke-free intervals and with the intention to reduce smoking as much as possible. As soon as these customers feel ready to quit smoking they should aim to quit smoking completely.
NICORETTE® QuickMist may be used for abrupt smoking cessation. In this case smokers should immediately replace all cigarettes with NICORETTE® QuickMist spray and, as soon as they are able, reduce the number of sprays used until they have stopped completely.
NICORETTE® QuickMist is contraindicated in children and adolescents under 12 years of age.
Before your customer uses NICORETTE® QuickMist for the first time, the spray pump needs to be primed. For this the dispenser top needs to be safely pointed away from the customer and other adults, children and pets that are near them. The button on top of the dispenser must be pushed down until a fine mist appears. This step will need to be repeated if the spray has not been in use for two consecutive days.
To administer QuickMist the customer should hold the spray as close to their mouth as possible, with the nozzle pointing towards their mouth. By pressing the top of the pump spray the customer can release one spray into their mouth, avoiding the lips.

The customer should be cautious not to inhale whilst spraying to avoid getting spray down the throat. For the best results the customer should not eat or drink while administrating the spray and avoid swallowing for a few seconds after. Also your customer should take care not to spray the eyes whilst administering the mouth spray.
