Hear what other successful quitters have to say.

After the smoking ban last year I made a decision to quit the habit for good. I'd tried to go cold turkey a few times before but it was really difficult and whenever I got stressed I'd go and light up again.
I'd heard of NICORETTE® before but I wasn't convinced that anything would be able to help me stop smoking. One of my friends had given up using patches so I thought I'd give them a go but I found that although they helped reduce some of the cravings, I really missed the action of smoking. It sounds silly but after years of cigarettes, there's something comforting about that hand to mouth action.
When I first heard out about the Inhalator I thought it sounded like a brilliant idea. It helps to cut down the cravings as well as addressing the familiar action of smoking.
Quitting has still been difficult and some days it’s a real struggle, but the Inhalator is really helping me to kick the habit.

I never considered myself a heavy smoker but I used to enjoy a cigarette with my friends on a night out. It was only ever a few times a week and I never though that I'd get addicted. When I started a new job my workmates would go out for cigarette breaks in the middle of the day. After a while I started joining them and before I knew it I was smoking a pack of ten every day.
When I first tried the Inhalator I had been considering quitting for a long time. There never seems to be a right time to stop smoking; you can always find an excuse to put it off. One day, however, I decided to visit my local smoking cessation service and they suggested that I might try the Inhalator. I guess I was quite sceptical about it at first but I liked the fact that it recreated the familiar action of smoking whilst helping you to give up.
I haven't quite cut out cigarettes yet but I'm getting there. The Inhalator has certainly been a massive help!

I've been smoking for the last 10 years and have tried seriously on three occasions to give up but managed only a few weeks before I've slipped back into my old habits.
I'm now trying to quit again but this time I'm using an 'inhaler' after my mum successfully quit using one earlier this year. So far so good. It's been 8 weeks. It hasn't been easy but I think this time I'm taking it slowly and accepting that it's going to take a while and I will have good days and bad days.
The hardest thing has been getting used to putting the inhaler into my mouth, being plastic it just feels slightly strange after using a cigarette for all these years – but you soon get used to it!

I've tried giving up smoking on and off for the last few years but never with much success. I'm easily tempted back to the cigarettes and find that my willpower is always weakest on a night out where all my mates are lighting up. Give me a glass of wine and you'll find me straight outside with the smokers puffing away even in the rain!
The inhalator was recommended to me by a friend and sounds like a great idea. Hopefully it should really help me resist the temptation and eventually stop smoking.
