How to use Nicorette® Nasal Spray

Nicorette® Nasal Spray is a form of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT). NRT provides your body with low levels of nicotine, without the toxic chemicals found in cigarettes.

Each spray of the Nicorette® Nasal Spray delivers 50 microlitres of solution, which contains 0.5mg of nicotine. This passes through the lining of your nose, with about half of the nicotine being absorbed into your body. This helps relieve your withdrawal symptoms and cravings.

You should make every effort to stop smoking completely while using the nasal spray treatment. After eight weeks of use, you can start to reduce the number of sprays you use.

In the next two weeks, your usage should have halved spraying into a single nostril can help you cut down. Then, by the end of your week 12, you should be down to zero sprays.

You shouldn't use Nicorette® Nasal Spray for more than three months. For children between 12 and 17 years old, treatment with Nicorette® Nasal Spray should also be no longer than 12 weeks.

Reviews

Nicotine is an addictive substance, which makes quitting smoking (and vaping) so difficult. Nicorette also contains nicotine but is designed specifically to fight craving as you reduce to quit tobacco/nicotine. We believe that being free of both tobacco and nicotine is the best quitting outcome, so we do not encourage use of our products unless it is within the context of quitting (including reducing prior to quitting). If you have a concern or an issue with ongoing use of Nicorette, please contact Nicorette Customer Services or speak directly to your GP/HCP for further guidance.
